Many OEM lights can be converted to HID for a low cost, just replace the halogen bulb, and install the HID/Xenon bulb, and add a ballast. The biggest problems is, that some older work lights use H3 halogen bulbs in a small housing, where the HID bulb needs a deeper housing to fit, and to find a location to mount the ballast. Please make sure that the reflector and lens is clean / clear, to maximize the light output and minimize the heat build-up
A test done on the power use of the ballasts showed that the 55 watt ballast use 5.4 amp at start up, and 4.7 amp after 30 sec. A 35 watt ballast use 6.0 amp at start up, and 3.45 amp after 40 sec.
To compare - a 55 watt halogen use 4.6 amp.
The H4/h & 9004/h is a combination of a 55 watt HID and a 55 watt halogen bulb. It allows the high beam to be HID, but keeps the low beam as halogen. Will not work on the xx66 & xx88 series CaseIh combines. Instead use the HID Hi-Lo bulb, it comes with a relay/harness, you can "steal" the power needed from the wiper motor power feed.
The H4/h (HID on Hi- Halogen on Lo) is nice for oncoming traffic, and makes the install easy - no extra 12 volt feed needed ! (needed for Hi-Lo HID bulbs)
The kits consist of 2 - ballasts and 2 - bulbs, the ballasts in this kit is for 12 volt systems (9-16 v)
Easy install in most cases - unplug and remove the old halogen bulb, secure the ballast with included bracket, install HID bulb, plug in all wires and turn on your new HID lights !
Please make sure that you are ordering the right bulb style by removing the oem bulb to verify the bulb style.
There is a few different styles within the same model number, so to be safe, please check your existing setup.
880 series and 890 series include : 880,881,884,885,886,887,894,895,896.
All have same base mount, but the connector can be straight or 90°. Also the distance from base to filament can be different between the bulbs.
